- E-BK Ni
|
E BK Ni ( Pure Nickle Electrode ),A stick electrode for joining commercially pure nickel in wrought and cast forms. Also for joining dissimilar metals such as nickel to steel, nickel to copper, and copper to steel. The electrode can also be used for surfacing steel. Excellent welding properties with easily controllable flow permit spatter-free welding with very low current. Due to the very low heat input and unique composition of Ni, the transition zone will stay well machinable and is therefore well suited to use as the first layer in the case of multi-layer welding. The weld metal will show no undercut! Preheating is normally done to slow down the cooling speed, in case you can not control the cooling speed, it is better to keep the work peace at a low temperature during welding and hammer immediately after welding.

Weld with low heat input.
Electrode to be held perpendicular to the workpiece.
For welding stainless steel, the coating must not be damaged and it is recommended to return over the starting point of the bead.
Preferred DC power supply, electric current should not be high.
Use weaving beads (do not stringer).
Peen the deposit after every pass to reduce stress build-up.
